Identification: Domestic - Proof of residence such as a utility bill (gas, electricity or telephone). Overseas - Passport for copying.

Driving licences must be produced (both parts in the case of two part licences) for all drivers.

Cars will not be released until all ID and Licences are produced

Insurance:The inclusive Fully Comprehensive insurance covers the insured only. Charge for any other additional driver is £10* per person, subject to our insurer’s approval and up to a maximum of 4 drivers.

Age and Licence Restrictions: Prices are based on drivers being aged 25 to 75 years of age. All drivers must have held a full licence for a minimum of two years, must have no more than 6 currrent points on their licence and are subject to approval on completion of a insurance proposal form. Any convictions for drink or drug driving, dangerous or careless driving within the past 5 years will not be accepted. Overseas licenses are accepted subject to the above conditions. The Insurers will not cover anyone who:

1. Is under 25 years of age
2. Has not held a full driving licence for cars with a manual gearbox for at least 2 Years
3. Has been refused any motor insurance or had special insurance terms imposed as a result of claims experience or had their insurance cancelled by any motor insurer
4. Has any mental or physical defect or infirmity, suffers from fits, diabetes or any heart complaint
5. Has been convicted of an offence in connection with the driving of a motor vehicle or motor cycle and/or has had their licence endorsed, suspended or penalty points imposed. Parking and not more than two speeding offences in the past 3 years may be ignored
6. Whilst driving has been involved in more than one accident during the past 3 years

Booking & Cancellation: We require a Booking Fee of £100, non-refundable upon cancellation. Payment of the full hire charge takes place 4 weeks before date of hire. Cancellations within 14 days of hire date - no refund due. (We will always endeavour to find a mutually agreeable alternative date of hire subject to timescales if necessary)

Excess & Security Deposit: Will be taken as a manual voucher credit card transaction only, which will not be processed unless loss or damage occurs. The hirer will be liable for the first £500 (£1000 for non european clients) of any claim.

As a security bond

As payments towards any mechanical damage which is not covered by our Insurers, eg, tyres, wheels, clutch, gearbox and which was sustained during the hire period, excluding normal wear and tear, due to misuse and abuse.

As an insurance excess against any accidental damage or loss caused to the vehicle by a third party or the hirer. The hirer is liable for the amount shown as Excess Deposit.

Additional charges incurred during hire for petrol reimbursement charges

Additional charges for late return of the vehicle at the rate of £20 per 15 minutes unless agreed with Thunder road Classics 

Any fines or penalties or other expenses imposed on TRC by law arising from the use of the car whilst on hire.

Liability: TRC Liability is limited to a refund of the hire charge. No consequential loss liability will be covered. Customer vehicles are left on Thunder Road premises at the owners risk.

Use of Vehicle: The hirer may use the vehicle for the purpose of their business and for social domestic and pleasure purposes. The vehicles may not be used for any purposes for which they are not expressly designed. Further, the hirer will not use or permit the vehicles to be used for hire, driving tuition, towing, racing or pace-making, or for competing in any rally, or any other form of motor sport, track days, or for any illegal purpose...

Smoking and pets: For the consideration of all hirers customers may not smoke or carry pets in the car.

Petrol: You will be provided with a full tank of petrol and the vehicle must be returned with a full tank. If, however, this is not the case any reimbursement for petrol will be charged at the pump price, plus £15 administration charge.

Overseas Travel: Please note most of our cars may not be taken out of the UK.  Prior notification is required so that overseas insurance can be arranged. There will be an additional charge for this, and the Excess Deposit will be increased. It is the responsibility of the hirer to take out their own European breakdown cover 

Hours of Hire: As shown on the individual Tarrif

Delivery: Delivery can be arranged throughout the UK, at an additional charge.

Availability: All cars are offered subject to availability.

Prices: Prices are subject to change without prior notice, however once a car has been booked and a deposit received, we will not alter the price for that hire. All rentals are subject to the full Terms and Conditions and all drivers are subject to approval by the company's insurers.

Choice of Car: In the event of unavailability of a chosen car due to mechanical or other problems beyond our control, the owner will inform the hirer and offer either an alternative car for the same date or an alternative date.

Voucher Delivery: Vouchers ordered before 2pm are posted first class Royal Mail that day.

Voucher Validity: All gift vouchers are valid for a full 12 months from date of purchase, this gives you the choice when to take your dream day and secures it at today's price. Some events are subject to seasonal availabilty so please ensure you book in plenty of time.

Breakdown Cover: Every effort is made to ensure reliability, but these are older vehicles and are covered by breakdown cover, which will give minimum disruption and allow you to reach your next destination. In the case of a total breakdown we will supply a replacement vehicle as similar as possible to the one hired.
